Mikael Carstanjen is an award winning Cape Cod Potter whose work has been featured in numerous publications and is part of many private collections. Mikael has been a full time production potter since 1971 when he graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago with a Masters in Fine Arts. His first studio was a two car garage in Stamford, Connecticut. In 1979 he moved to Orleans with his wife Mary and family. Mary helps with the studio production; she also designs and produces a line of whimsical garden sculptures. In the winter months Mikael’s son Jan helps produce the hand-formed and wheel thrown work.
