Are dogs allowed on the public beaches?
Between Memorial Day and Columbus Day dogs are not allowed on the public beaches. During these months a leashed dog can be walked on the bike paths and walking trails. Any dog waste is the responsibility of the walker and must be picked up and disposed of properly. Between mid-October to mid-May leashed dogs can be walked on the public beaches. Same rules for dog waste.
Are campfires allowed on the public beaches?
Campfires are NOT allowed but charcoal fires for cooking purposes are allowed. The beach attendant needs to be told that intention when entering the beach parking lot.
Where can renters dispose of household trash?
The Transfer Station will accept a one time use fee for $5.00; pay the attendant at the gate. The Transfer Station is located at the end of Lots Hollow Rd. Call 508-240-3770 for daily hours of operation.
We want to get married on an Orleans beach or park what do we need to know and do?
Contact the Town Clerk at Orleans Town Hall for instructions about a marriage license 508-240-3700 x.405. Then contact the Orleans Park & Beach Dept for rules and regulations about ceremonies on the beaches or in parks, 508-240-3775.
Where can I access WI-FI?
Most of Orleans has WI-FI accessibility. Some locations include: Willy’s Gym on Old Colony Way, Hearth ‘n Kettle Restaurant on West Rd, Cape Cup on Main Street and most lodging facilities provide WI-FI for their customers. Snow Library has computers available for use by reservation only, call 508-240-3760.
Where can I get a freshwater fishing license?
Goose Hummock Shop (508-255-0455) and The Hook-Up! (508-240-0778) Fishing licenses are only valid for the calendar year, January thru December.
Where can I get a clamming license?
Monday thru Friday at Orleans Town Hall located on 19 School Rd. Clamming instructions and locations are provided at that time. During the season any specific questions about clamming can be directed to the Orleans Harbormaster 508-240-3755.
